TOP-DOWN THINKING
The MINI Cabrio offers authentic open-air enjoyment. For one thing, the electrically-powered soft top is different to others out there. Its quiet, intelligent Z-folding mechanism operates in 3 stages: up, down, or sunroof, to let the breeze in. It opens or closes fully in 18 seconds flat too – even at speeds of up to 30 km/h. You can also get a ‘MINI Yours’ soft top with a unique woven Union Jack heritage design on the Cooper S and John Cooper Works variants.

TAKING LIGHT BEYOND ILLUMINATION
Innovative MINI matrix LED headlights on the Cooper S variant provide best possible illumination levels for better visibility and safety. When the highbeam is switched on, the lighting is highly effective. The front camera system integrated in the rear mirror detects oncoming vehicles and automatically switches on (or off) one or more of the headlight’s four segments. This reduces distraction to other road users while optimally illuminating all other areas.

MAKE LOADING A BREEZE
MINI’s creative use of space gives you more luggage space than you probably thought. Even better, the Easy Load function – only available for the MINI Cabrio – gets packing down to a fine art. By just pushing up the roof base, you increase the size of the luggage compartment opening – making it easy to load your cargo. When the top is closed, the luggage compartment gives you a generous capacity of 215 litres, and when opened, you have a very handy 160 litres. You can even take longer items, like a surfboard, with a standard 50/50-split folding of the rear seat.

A NOD TO OUR ROOTS
Like the MINI, the Union Jack transcends time and signifies a long and rich history. Reimagined for modern driving, these striking LED rear lights form a two-part LED Union Jack, surrounded by a chrome frame.

A HERITAGE ACT
The excitement starts well before your vehicle arrives. You feel it even more when you put together your interior. Besides our standard stylish Carbon Black, the colour lines – knee roll and armrests – are available optionally in three eye-catching tones: Malt Brown, Glowing Red and Satellite Grey. In finest MINI tradition, you can give your passenger side dash a distinctive custom touch to add new allure to your interior. The fascia in Piano Black is back-illuminated with a modern, stylised Union Jack-inspired design.

LED THE LIGHT SHINE
These headlights add distinguished design and the latest matrix lighting technology to your MINI Cooper S Cabrio – with brilliant results. LED cornering enables adaptive light distribution to provide sideways illumination when you make turns at dimly lit junctions. You see parts of the road you might have missed – enhancing your safety. Their unique appearance is completed by stylish white direction indicators.

LIGHTEN UP THE DAY
We’ve reinterpreted the front LED headlights and given them a cleaner, modern edge. The daytime running lights incorporate LED indicators which blink in an eye-catching full circle, thanks to the unique headlight design – the black inner housing amplifying the iconic MINI look. The powerful low and high-beam settings come courtesy of the bi-LED light and ensure better vision and greater safety. So, lights on – you’re ready to road trip.

7-SPEED STEPTRONIC TRANSMISSION WITH DOUBLE CLUTCH
The 7-speed Steptronic automatic transmission makes shifting gears exceptionally dynamic. It uses a precision-tuned electronic gear shifting system that offers you a seamless transition between gears. The selector lever allows you to opt for manual-shift when you want it, or the automatic mode at other times. The Start/Stop function makes driving more economical too, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Our MINI Cooper S model boasts a 7-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission. Composed of two interlocking, mechanical parts, it shifts to the next gear while the previous one is still active to improve acceleration.

8-SPEED STEPTRONIC TRANSMISSION
Setting new standards in dynamics and efficiency, our John Cooper Works models are fitted with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission to give you an even smoother, sportier drive. The extra gears reduce the number of revs at high speed to allow optimal power development and the gentle gradation of the eight gears reduces the engine’s rev interval between shifts, so you enjoy a more powerful acceleration. Steptronic functionality lets you choose between automatic ease and the thrill of manual shifting. The Start/Stop function makes driving more economical too, reducing fuel consumption, engine noise and emissions.

YOUR MODE ON THE ROAD
Go green. Go mean. Go somewhere in between. You want to take things easy when you’re on the road, then just switch over to fuel-friendly GREEN mode. This mode optimises fuel delivery, and disengages your engine when your foot’s off the throttle. Fancy something a bit more, then switch to SPORT mode for more responsive steering and acceleration. Even the growl of the exhaust moves up a few tones. For the best of both worlds, just stay in MID mode for a happy motoring medium.

AMBIENT LIGHT
The MINI Cabrio comes complete with the MINI Excitement Pack. This includes Ambient Lighting which lets you customise the colour in the cabin. So, while the city lights outside shine brightly, you can create the perfect atmosphere for the interior – and let it reflect the mood you happen to be in.

LED RING AROUND MINI CENTRE INSTRUMENT
Cast a glance at the LED ring around the MINI Centre Instrument. It’s there to keep you company. Like a faithful travelling companion, it feels with you. It has moods of its own. It glows intensely – changing colours in response to different events. Like when you change the Driving Mode, rev up your engine, receive an incoming call or turn up the music volume. If you prefer a more mellow cockpit, simply set it to one constant hue.

The optional MINI Head-Up Display helps you keep your head up for a safe and convenient driving experience. It’s a transparent screen installed on your MINI’s dashboard directly in your field of vision. It sends you essential information including driving speed, navigation instructions and other data like telephone & entertainment details – ensuring you keep your eyes firmly on the road ahead.

MINI PARK ASSIST
When you get to your destination, the optional MINI Park Assist is there to seamlessly guide your MINI into the tightest of parking spots – so, you’ll make a perfect entrance. What’s more, the days of craning your neck every time you need to reverse into or out of a tight spot are now no longer as the optional MINI Rear-View Camera provides clear rearwards visibility. DYNAMIC TRACTION & STABILITY CONTROL
Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) provides the best possible driving force on every surface, even slick or sandy ones. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) makes a MINI more agile. Intelligent sensors detect if you’re veering off course. Thanks to carefully calibrated braking where extra force is applied to individual wheels if needed, your MINI corners even more dynamically and cruises around bends with ease.

ACTIVE ROLLOVER PROTECTION SYSTEM
Your safety comes first. To this end, every MINI Convertible is fitted with an invisible roll bar that deploys within a fraction of a second to give you and your passengers additional head protection in a rollover accident. It’s embedded behind the seats and is neatly disguised by elegant matte black caps. Together with the rigid body structure and robust frames, this protection system creates a safe occupant cell should the vehicle ever overturn.
